Rowe pointed out that Chapter I funds will now be determined by the 1980 census, showing more than 200 fewer disadvantaged children in the county. Previous allotments used the 1970 census figures.
The revised figures add up to a 15% reduction in funds allotted, Rowe said, but noted that with the carryover and the new allotment she can meet the needs of the coming year. She projected needs totalling $136,876, well under the $180,694 total funds available.
