Brewers, Tigers Advance
The Brewers from Sperryville, currently contending for the lead in the Northern Division of the Northern Virginia Men s Slow Pitch Softball League, have advanced to a regional qualifying tournament for the Virginia Class C softball tournament with a second-place finish in a tournament recently in Winchester.
The Brewers finished with a 5-2 record in the ASA subqualifying round event with another local team, the Tigers, finishing fifth to advance also to the July 22 qualifying tournament in Harrisonburg.
The state tournament is slated in August in Richmond.
