People applying for a duplicate card to replace one lost must show evidence of their identity. Also a person who wants to change his/her name in Social Security records must provide evidence of identity under both the old and new names.

Heifer slaughtered — meat not safe
A registered Angus heifer weighing about 700 pounds owned by Ray T. Cannon was slaughtered in mid-December in a field on his farm about two miles north of Boston on the east side of Rt. 615.
Whoever took the beef does not know that all of the cattle were recently vaccinated for ten different diseases and treated for lice and grub, which makes the meat hazardous to human health if eaten within 60 days after vaccination and treatment.
Mr. Cannon is offering a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons who are responsible for this act. You may contact the Rappahannock County Sheriff Department at 987-8787 or Ray T. Cannon at 937-4900 if you have any information.
Atkins named
Beverly Atkins has been appointed interim Commissioner of Revenue for Rappahannock County. She replaces Merle Scoggin and will serve in this position until November 1986 when a special election will be held.
