What does
Christmas mean
to you?
Miss Wittl’s second grade class at Rappahannock County Elementary School pondered the question “What does Christmas mean to you?” and then went into action to answer it. Most of the children felt that as a “celebration of Jesus’ birthday” it was a time for “caring, sharing, loving and being thankful for their families.” They agreed there were people not so fortunate in the world, and they decided to share with them a bi t of that Christmas caring spirit.
Each child then selected parents, neighbors and school employees from which to request a donation. The result was a huge overflowing box filled with non-perishable food items. The box was delivered to the Social Services office in Washington for Christmas distribution to needy families.
