uunng open discussion of the Fryes’ proposed car lot, local resident Pat Saltonstall said, “I assume that if this special use permit is granted, anyone up and down 211 can come to you to get the same thing.”
Marion Kuhn, whose property adjoins the Frye lot, described Route 211 as “our corridor into the county.” She noted that a special use permit would also give the Fryes the right to erect a building and sign without returning to the BZA for further approval.
Mrs. Kuhn also pointed out that the car lot would not help the local economy to any extent “since Mr. Frye himself stated that he would take the cars out of the county to do repairs.”
In another matter, the Commission moved to deny William and Elizabeth Faulconer’s request for an exception from a subdivision requirement for their house and surrounding acreage in Chester Gap. The requirement was for a 50 foot right-of-way built to State specifications, as specified by the county’s Zoning Ordinance.
