Christmas Eve Candlelighting Service The members of the Washington Baptist Church warmly invite you and your family to participate in the Christmas Eve Candlelighting Service. The service will begin at 7:30 p.m. A nursery will be provided.
‘Birdy’ The movie “Birdy,” starring Matthew Modine and Nicholas Cage, will be playing on December 28 and 29 at the Gay Street Theatre. As Birdy, Matthew Modine plays a disturbed boy who is obsessed with dreams of flying. He and his friend A1 (Cage) both go to Vietnam and come home with war wounds, A1 is wrapped in gauze and Birdy wrapped in catatonia. Their mutual recovery is the focus of this eloquent film.
CMH offers prenatal classes A series of six classes for expectant parents will begin January 8 and run through February 12 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. The Preparation for Parenthood Course is being taught in conjunction with the Culpeper County Health Department in the hospital conference room on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. To register, please call the Obstetric Unit at Culpeper Memorial Hospital, 825-2811, ext. 252, or from Orange, 672-4322. The classes are free to residents of Culpeper, Orange, Madison, Rappahannock, and Fauquier counties.
