Halloween sock hop
A Halloween sock hop sponsored by the SPTA will be held at the Rappahannock County Elementary School on Friday, October 31. Admission is $1 and only elementary students are invited. There will be a costume contest and a carved Jack-O-Lantem contest. Donations of baked goods will be greatly appreciated.

Historical Society meeting
“George Mason, the true father of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights” will be discussed by John B. Minnick of Fairfax, retired chief counsel for the Internal Revenue Service in Fairfax, on Friday, November 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay Street Theater. The program is sponsored by the Rappahannock Historical Society, which invites the public to attend.
Portraits to be taken at Amissville
The Amissville Ladies Auxiliary will be sponsoring their fifth year of the Family Portrait Project on Sunday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you have not purchased a coupon, they may be purchased at the door. Buy a coupon for $10 and get a beautiful 8 x 10 picture in color. Portraits will be taken at the Amissville Fire Hall. “Come and get your portrait done,” said a project organizer.
