Blankenbaker
A. Lawton Blankenbaker, 87, a former chairman of the Madison County Board of Supervisors, died October 20 at his residence at Haywood.
Mr. Blankenbaker, a native of Madison County, was a retired farmer. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, past chairman of the Madison County Welfare' Board, past president of Brightwood Ruritan Club and a director of the Culpeper Farmers Cooperative.
He is survived by his wife Frances Bruce Blankenbaker of Haywood and a son Jackie Blankenbaker of Haywood.
Graveside services were conducted October 22 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church cemetery, Haywood, by the Rev. Gordon George.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Rescue Squad or Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Bettye J. Thomas
Bettye J. Thomas, 60, of Warrenton, died October 24 at the Fauquier Hospital.
She is survived by her husband Vernon Thomas of Warrenton, two daughters, Sharyn Fulcher of Amissville and Carolyn Pugh of Manassas, two sons, James Thomas of Purcellville and Darryl Thomas of Herndon, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service was conducted October 27 at the Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, with interment at the Warrenton cemetery.
Frank Johnson
Frank “Teenie” Daniel Johnson, 78, of Nags Head, N. C., died October 15 in Nags Head.
A native of Rappahannock, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Charles Edward and Susie Wood Johnson. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his sister-inlaw, Mrs. Elisabeth Branch Johnson of Sperryville, a niece Mrs. Harold Wayne Jones of Sperryville, and a nephew Charles Edward Johnson III of Dunedin, Fla.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, November 6, at Sperryville. The Rev. Horace Douty of Culpeper will officiate and burial
