The Virginia Department of Social Services expects to receive a grant of about $35.6 million for its Fuel Assistance Program this winter. The program is funded by the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Block Grant. Local departments of welfare and social services will accept applications for fuel assistance from November 1 through February 28, 1987, or until available funds are depleted.
Income limits for Rappahannock County residents are $6,700 for one person and $14,628 for a household of four.
Also, about $1.3 million of the federal grant has been set aside for use in an energy crisis assistance component of the Fuel Assistance Program.
