WBC plans candlelight tours

The Washington Business Council will meet Thursday, October 30, at 8 p.m. at Brambles to make plans for the town’s first Christmas Open House and Candlelight Tour. All business owners in the town of Washington are encouraged to attend. Those who want to come at 7 p.m for dinner should call Brambles (675-3490) for reservations.

Hallelujah party at

Family Worship Center

The public is invited to a Hallelujah party at Family Worship Center in Washington on Friday, October 31, at 7 p.m. Kids come dressed as your favorite Bible character. There will be video fun and refreshments. Family Worship Center is located in the old school building in Washington on Rt. 626. For more information call 987-8505.

Halloween party at Amissville

The Amissville Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a Halloween party on Friday, October 31, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the fire hall. There will be costume judging, games, prizes, refreshments and a haunted house. Admission is $1.

Citrus fruit for sale

Members of the Rappahannock County High School Music Boosters are taking orders for fresh Florida citrus fruit. Orders will be taken, money collected ancNresh oranges and grapefruit purchased directly from a Florida grower. Students will deliver the produce to each buyer by December 10.

The sale continues through November 7 and the community is urged to participate. The money will be used to purchase new gowns, instruments and tuxedo rentals. For further information or to place an order contact any high school choir or band member or teachers Cathy Hewitt or Cathy Fox at the Rappahannock High School.

Halloween parly at Trinity

Trinity Episcopal Church will hold its usual Halloween party at 6:15 on Friday night, October 31. There will be supper, treats and games for the children as an alternative to trick or treating. The party will be joined at 7 p.m. by the Cub Scout Pack 123 meeting which will include awards, games and a costume judging costest. Please bring a bag of candy or other treats to be shared.

Benefit dinner and sale

A turkey dinner and bake sale will be held Saturday, November 8, at the home of Miss Linda Boddie on Piedmont Avenue. Proceeds will benefit the seventh grade field trip and the C. E. Dearing Choir. “Come out and enjoy the fun,” said an organizer.
