Sheep Assoc, dinner
The Piedmont Sheep Producers Association will hold its Annual Christmas Dinner at the War Memorial Building in Madison on Friday, Dec. 16. The public is invited and everyone is asked to bring a covered dish. Plan to be there by 6:30 p.m. There will be a slide presentation by National Geographic photographer Jon Golden of a New Zealand sheep “muster.” For information contact Sharon Ferrence (703) 547-2059.
'Babes in Toyland'
Babes in Toyland will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday Matinee, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. The movie stars Ray Bolger, Tommy Sands, Annette Funicello, Ed Wynn and Tommy Kirk. Turly a classic all ages will eiyoy any time of the year. Victor Herbert’s beloved music will start toes tapping and people humming the familiar tunes.
La Leche meeting Dec. 15
If your family is awaiting the arrival of a new member, the Culpeper La Leche League meeting: “The Family of the Breastfed Baby,” may interest you. Informal discussion will center on how to manage those first hectic weeks with emphasis on the entire family as well as timely tips for mother and baby. The Cancer Support Group at Warren Memorial Hospital will not be meeting in December. The classes will resume in January.
Get nuts for holidays
For the upcoming holidays, members of the Rappahannock Lions Club are selling DeLuxe Mix Nuts (no peanuts), $6 lb.; Fancy Mammouth Pecan Halves (fresh crop), $5 lb.; and 12 oz. tins of Honey Roasted Peanuts, $3 lb. Quaker meeting
