Hiking in
Shenandoah
The Fauquier County Hiking Club invites county residents to join them in its upcoming hike when they go to Dark Hollow, located in the Shenandoah National Park.
This is an interesting hike in which both long and short circuits pass the Roase River Falls and Dark Hollow Falls. It also passes the site of an old copper mine. Most of the hike is wooded with few distant views except from the Appalachian Trail as it circles Big Meadows picnic and camping areas.
This hike is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17. Anyone interested in this hike is welcome to meet at 9 a.m. at the Parks and Recreation parking lot, 62 Culpeper Street, in Warrenton.
