Recycling Day Jan. 21
Community Recycling Day will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 9-11 a.m. at the Rappahannock County Park. According to Litter Coordinator Nina Stamer, this will be the last recycling day until the permanent recycling center is opened at the county landfill. Mrs. Stamer urges residents to continue saving recyclable goods. More information about alternative recycling sites will appear in next week’s Rappahannock News. 'Housekeeping'
The movie Housekeeping will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The movie stars Christine Lahti, Sara Walker and Andrea Burchill. Directed by Bill Forsyth. The story unfolds during the early 1950s in a small lakeside community in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. It is in this setting that the tale of two orphaned teen-agers and their eccentric aunt (Lahti) become a family. Life style with Aunt Sylvie is unpredictable and exciting, to say the least. The movie is rated PG-13. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Committee to form for reunion

Women's Club to meet
The Rappahannock Women’s Club will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Debbie Massie on Route 729. All members are urged to attend. Plans for the upcoming fashion show will be discussed and patron packets will be distributed.
Guest speaker at Sperryville Assembly
Rev. William M. Hoard of Falling Waters, W.Va., will be guest speaker at Sperryville Assembly of God Church on Route 1003 on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. “All are invited to worship with us in this special service,” said Sperryville Assembly Pastor, Ray Campbell.
