Mr. Saufley said Monday that customers who have electric appliances which they think may have been damaged by the power surge which accompanied the outage should contact Potomac-Edison’s Luray office. Ken Mahaney, the area’s line superintendent, is handling damage claims.
Customers should call (800) 2376045 to report damage. Mr. Saufley said they should be prepared to tell r«Mr, .Mahaney 1) what equipment is damaged; 2) what problem the equipment is having; 3) when the damage occurred; and 4) any details about what and how it happened. If the equipment is repaired, he added, the customer Should save any estimates or receipts, including descriptions of the damage.
