DUTIES: Makes repairs to automobiles, trucks, and highway maintenance and construction equipment. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, overhauls and rebuilds gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems, brakes and hydraulic systems. Performs some welding and fabricating operations. Performs preventive maintenance on all types of equipment. Installs and repairs snow removal equipment. Instructs operators in the operation and maintenance of equipment. Completes required paper work including work orders, requisitions, time cards, bin cards, and stock issue sheets. Keeps shop in neat and orderly condition. Performs official state inspections.
