In last Saturday’s Bull Run District headliner, the RCHS Panthers led the Strasburg Rams for three quarters, only to be outscored by 14 points in the fourth. The 57-51 defeat, the first of the season, came after an 18-day layoff for Rappahannock. The win put Strasburg on top the district pile, but the Rams had just three days to enjoy their sole possession of Bull Run’s first place as they w ere defeated by George Mason on Monday.
Also at home last Saturday, the Junior Panthers owned the court, as Tony Atkins (14 points) and Kenneth Baldwin (13 points) led Rappahannock’s junior varsity squad to a 58-27 win over Strasburg.
