He reported that he had telephoned W$A Chairman'Martin Woodard to ask whether the Sperryville treatment facility will at some future point take the landfill leachte for treatment. He said that Mr. Woodard had the same question regarding the sludge since the WSA’s expense for contracting with a private hauler represents that agency’s major budget “out-flow” after salary.
And in both instances, there is no urgency, Mr. McCarthy said, noting that the landfill should not begin to produce leachate for an estimated four years, while the WSA has an agreement with a private hauler.
