Simon Jenkins
Simon Nelson Jenkins of Fairfax, a native of Rappahannock County, died Jan. 2 at Virginia Nursing Home in Fairfax.
Mr. Jenkins had lived in Fairfax since 1941 and was a retired employee of the City of Fairfax. He was a former member of Fairfax Volunteer Fire Co. His wife, Marv Elizabeth Jenkins, died in 1984.
He-is survived by three sons, John W. Jenkins, Charles Jenkins and Nelson Jenkins, all of Fairfax; two daughters, Audrey Grinder, Marbury, Md., and Dorothy Wilson, Fenton, Mo.; a sister, Ethel Jenkins, Manassas; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Jan. 5 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper. The Rev. Kenneth Huneycutt officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper.
