EMI class begins Jan. 7

A class leading to state certification as an Emergency Medical Technician will begin Jan. 7 at the Flint Hill fire hall. The class will also be offered for current EMTs whose certification is near expiration and must attend a refresher course. Classes will be held each Monday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The tentative date for the state examination is May 30. Preregistration is a necessity for this class. Watercolor class

Tanya Richey offers a watercolor painting class each Thursday from 1 p.m. to ^ p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Windflower Gallery in the Clopton House in Washington. The class explores new techniques in watercolor painting. The fee is $45 for Middle Street Gallery members, $55 for non-members, for five classes. For information, call (703) 675-1113.

Gallery's Christmas shop

The Middle Street Gallery continues its Christmas shop, the gallery's December exhibition. It features handmade original art and craft items created by member artists. The selection includes pottery, baskets, paintings, prints, fiber arts, sculpture, handmade Christmas angels, decorations, jewelry and much more. The shop is perfect for those last-minute Christmas gifts, without fighting the crowds are other shoppingoutlets. The Christmas Shop exhibition will run through Dec. 30. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday through Sunday.
