At the membership meeting of the Middle Street Gallery Gene C. Wenrier, president of Arts and Education Consultants Inc., of Reston, was named to be the Gallery’s Director of Marketing and Development.
Tanya Richey, president of the Gallery, said, “we are at a critical point in the development of the Middle Street Gallery when we need the kind of assistance in public relations and fund raising that Mr. Wenner can provide to establish us as an important art center in Northern Virginia.”
Ms. Richey went on to say, “We are looking forward to the hands-on approach to these areas that Mr. Wenner will be able to bring to us as we expand our exhibition, workshop, educational and outreach programs to our community and other surrounding counties. Little Washington, as it has been called, is becoming a recognized arts community adding to its widely known tourist attractions.”
At the meeting, Mr. Wenner said, “This is a very unique community, with its location at the foothills of the Skyline Drive. The Middle Street Gallery has already created a program of excellence. The next challenge is to inform the entire Northern Virginia about its exhibitions and workshops, build a solid financial base that will allow expanded education programs in the schools and within the neighboring
