May I share a few thoughts with your readers at this holiday season? In the wonderful story, “The Night The Animals Talked,” the story of Christ’s birth is told by the animals. Imagine with me, that the following conversation took place among the felines at Dan and Shirley Minton’s, a private, no-kill cat shelter in Abingdon, VA:

“Listen to the wind,” says Samantha, a calico curled up by the fireplace. “We’ve much to be thankful for.”

“Agreed,” purred Miss Kitty from atop the easy chair.

“Yes,” agreed Fluffy from under the chair, “The Mintons saved me when I got thrown away at the dump.”

“Me, too,” meowed little Puff, creeping out from under the Christmas tree. “My hide would be history by now.”
