Betty Foster

Betty Lou Foster, 47, of Flint Hill died Dec. 12 in Shawnee Springs Nursing Home in Winchester.

The funeral was conducted Dec. 15 at Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Edward Jenkins and Mrs. Cindy Matthews. Burial was in Flint Hill Cemetery.

Miss Foster was born Nov. 17, 1943, in Flint Hill. She was the daughter of the late Guy and Maggie Burke Foster Sr. and the granddaughter of Jesse Foster of Front Royal.

Surviving with her grandfather are two brothers, Guy Foster Jr. of Sperryville and Jerry Foster of Flint Hill and a sister, Mary Beumer of Manassas.

Pallbearers were Henry Beumer, Guy Foster III, Sammy Foster, Donnie Foster, Bobby Foster, Rocky Foster and Jimmy Foster.

Honorary pallbearers were Donnie Welch, Mike Welch, Harvey Smoot, Bob Burke, Earl Burke, Pete Jenkins and Junior Atkins.

Russell Riley

Russell R. Riley, 58, of Berryville died Dec. 12 at his residence.

The funeral was conducted Dec. 15 at the Enders Funeral Home in Berryville by the Rev. Larry Veach. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville.

Mr. Riley was bom Nov. 15, 1932, in Flint Hill, the son of Patsy Smoot Carpenter of Boyce and the late Robert Riley. He was a boiler mechanic for FEMA and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
