Apperson also said he intends’to oppose granting bond to any of the defendants.
An affadavit by FBI agent David Larson, released following Allison’s arrest on drug charges in November, stated there were more than 50 co-conspirators. Apperson said the grand jury has been hearing testimony for almost four months now.
“Some [co-conspirators] have agreed to enter pleas with this oL fice. Others have entered pre-indictment pleas that have been sealed by the court,” said Apperson.
Two of the alleged co-conspirators pleaded guilty this week and three more are expected to do so by the end of the week, according to Apperson. All of those who plead guilty to the conspiracy charge will have their other charges dropped, but they are signing statements that the other charges are all true, and that will affect their sentences, said Apperson. They will also testify against Allison if needed, said Apperson.
After a bond hearing and arraignment later this week for those who don’t plea guilty, a trial will be scheduled. °
