To the editor:
The Rappahannock Athletic Association and the Rappahannock Soccer League are happy to announce their intentions to work together in order to improve youth sports within the county. It is the goal of our separate organizations to work in unison with one another, in order to expand and improve on these beneficial programs for the youth of our community.
In these days when the youth of our country are faced with ever increasing, and in some cases, harmful distractions, we feel that sports can serve as a vital and stabilizing role in young lives. Providing an outlet for youthful energies, enhancing the ability to work with others through teamwork, and strengthening their character by the lessons taught in both victory and defeat.
, These are only some of the important attributes that sports activities have and will continue to provide to our most important resource, our children.
