Fashion show planned
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will present their annual fashion show on Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at Rappahannock Elementary School. This year’s show, “Victorian Fantasies” will benefit C.A.R.E. and the annual scholarship fund. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from any member.
Lions' Bland Music Competition
Student vocalists and instrumentalists please note! Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. at RCHS auditorium has been scheduled for this year’s Bland Music Scholarship competition sponsored by the Virginia Lions Clubs. Lion Paul Nichols, Bland Contest chairman for Rappahannock County, has given local schools application forms and eligibility information. Contact music teachers for details.
Sperryville gun lottery
The second annual gun lottery sponsored by the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is underway. Tickets are $30 each and good for 52 weeks with a gun begin given away each week. For more information call 987-8683 or 987-8124.
Recycle aluminum cans
The Chester Gap Junior Fire Department members are recycling aluminum cans. If you have any cans and would like to help them please leave them at the Chester Gap fire hall or call 635-5482 or 6357273.
Cemetery cleanup planned
A cleanup day for the First Baptist cemetery has been set for Saturday, Feb. 16 beginning at 10 a.m. Anyone willing to help or with tools is urged to attend if weather permits. For more information call David Clanagan 987-8937 or Eunice Lewis at 675-3612.
Community breakfast
The Amissville United Methodist Women will sponsor a community breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at Amissville United Methodist Church. The all-you-can-eat menu will consist of bacon, sausage, sausage biscuits, sausage gravy, apples, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. Cost is $5 for adults, children 12 and under $3.
