$32,910 - $50,248 Northern VA We currently are searching for 3 Tax Criminal Investigators who will investigate suspected violations of Virginia tax laws. Incumbents will audit taxpayer’s records, interview taxpayers and others who may posess pertinent evidence, analyze complaints or allegations to determine if an investigation is warranted, write investigative reports, make oral presentations and will testify in court in order to obtain convictions of tax law violations. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must possess considerable knowledge of: accounting and auditing principles and practices and various accounting systems; investigative techniques, principles, laws and decisions relating to investigative procedures. Should have some knowledge of evidence and criminal procedures, associated constitutional principles and statutory case law. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct investigative interviews, recognize and explore leads, analyze information, write and present comprehensive investigation reports and testify during criminal proceedings.
