Social Services distributes food
The Rappahannock Department of Social Services will distribute USDA commodities, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 18 in the basement of the Social Services Building on Gay Street in Washington, Va.
All eligible recipients should stop by the office during those hours to pick up their commodities. For more information call Social Services at 675-3313.
Rainforest group to meet
The final Rainforest Action Group meeting of 1991 will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Windflower Gallery in the Clopton House in Washington, Va.
A video about rainforests will be shown discussion about upcoming group activities for the coming year held and gift item T-shirts to support global rainforest projects will be for sale.

WVFD holds benefit breakfast
A buffet breakfast to benefit the Washington Volunteer Fire Department will be held from 7 a.m.-l 1 a.m. Dec. 21 in the fire hall. Santa Claus will be in attendance.
The menu includes sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, hash browns, baked apples, ’ coffee, juice and drinks.
Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids 12 and under.
