'Hot Shots' on the stiver screen
"Hot Shots," starring Charlie Sheen, Cary Elyves, Valeria Golina, Jon Cryer and Lloyd Bridges, will be shown at The Theatre at Washington, Vav 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.
The RAAC-sponsored screening is a parody of World War II plane films. A renegade pilot struggles to make the grade in an elite squadron while trying to live down his pilot father's legendary disgrace. Flying with him are Kent Gregory (Elwes), a model of military perfection who is competing with him for the affection of a sultry base psychiatrist, played by Valeria Golino. Their mission is led by blustery, battle scarred Admiral Tug Benson (Bridges), whose various body parts have been replaced by chrome and plastic because of war wounds.
Rated PG-13,85 minutes. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for children.

Paperwork show at Middle St.
The Middle Street Gallery invites artists to submit slides for its "Paperwork" exhibit, which will run in the month of A March. The deadline for the juried exhibition is 6 p.m. Jan. 25. v Artists may submit works on paper: drawings, paintings, hand-pulled prints and collage. Also permitted: works of handmade paper, paper sculpture and paper mache. No photography will be allowed.
