Jackson District representative Ellis Bingham said he would not support a franchise agreement which did not include Amissville. The company later agreed to serve Amissville although extending the line between Massies Comer and Amissville meant the company would be dropping below its standard of 15 houses per mile.
At that time the company said it would charge about $18 per month for basic service. In Front Royal basic service included 30 channels and cost about $2 less. There were five additional premium channels such as HBO and Disney, which cost an additional fee monthly.
Mr. Burke, general manager of the Front Royal operation, said in a recent interview that as of the first of the year, basic service in Front Royal will cover 35 channels, with premium channels costing extra.
