• An Amissville man’s car hit a bear on U.S. 211, two-tenths of a
mil€^?est of Route 683, at 6 p.m. Dec. 6, according to Sgt. G.A. Morris of the State Police.
Charles Kohler, 41, of Amissville, was operating a 1987 Mercury eastbound on U.S. 211 when the bear walked into his
path. The bear left the scene, and the Mercury sustained about $1,500 in damages, said Sgt. Morris. Trooper J.L. Mullins investigated and no one was injured, said Sgt. Morris.
