Robinson, 23, of Culpeper, has been charged with brandishing a firearm, a misdemeanor, and three felonies: shooting into an occupied dwelling, feloniously shooting Walter C. Freeman of Washington, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The charges follow an incident at the Pine Knot on Nov. 7. After an altercation inside the restaurant, one of those involved went outside to his car and got a gun, according to Maj. Streapy. The gunman went around to the side of the building and began shooting through the window, injuring Freeman.
WSA forced
to pay bills
with savings
. The Water and Sewer authority voted last Wednesday to allow secretary/treasurer Jimmy Swindler Jr. to withdraw up to $10,000 from savings to pay accumulated bills owed to Environmental Systems Services of Culpeper, which is operating the Sperryville sewer plant.
Before this latest withdrawal the savings account held $55,360. Most of these funds were left over from the original grants that were used to build the system. The WSA had hoped to build up this fund to replace equipment, but the cost of using ESS to operate the plant and the cost of chemicals for dechlorination has required the authority to dip into savings.
