tend James Madison University this fall. She thinks she may study accounting and become a CPA, but she is not certain. She does believe her major will be in business, however.
“I guess I’m having the usual feelings,” she said last week as she pondered leaving Rappahannock high for JMU. “I’m exeited and scared, feeling I’m ready and then feeling I’m not ready.”
The president of the National Honor Society this year, Rachel has also been a cheerleader, a member of the Varsity Club, a member of the SCA for three years and vice-president this year. This year she has also helped out as an assistant in the office and served the baseball team as its scorekeeper.
Contemplating leaving RCHS, Rachel says she will miss her friends and some “special teachers.” She added thinking about the difference between attending a university with thousands of students and a high school with fewer than 400, “I’ll miss a lot of one-on-one interaction with teachers.”
