The jury recommended sentences of 10 years for rape, two years for attempted rape, and a fine of $2,500 for sexual battery. Sentencing was scheduled for Aug. 19 by Judge Robertsop, pending completion of a pre-sentence investigation.
Cases of rape by family members are “unfortunately not unique,” said attorney Luke. “Sexual offenses involving caretakers or family members are three times as common as similar offenses between strangers,” he added.
Hall is currently incarcerated in the Rappahannock County Jail, awaiting sentencing.
