Wayne McGlothlin will be in town June 15-17 and hopes to see family and friends while here. He is stationed at Tyndall AFB in Florida.
Mary and Charlie Priest were delighted to visit with Willard and Elsie Bennett Anderson from Silverdale, Washington. Elsie was in town to attend her class reunion in Culpeper. They enjoyed lunch together last Friday at the Davis Street Ordinary. Having been friends for many years, they used to work together at the Training Center. After their retirement the Andersons moved to the state of Washington.
Jo Mills and LouElla Smith joined other family members for a surprise birthday party for their father and stepmother Reverends (both ministers) C.M. and Linda Kennedy McGlothlin last Saturday. Linda’s special day is June 10. C.M.’s was May 25.
Congratulations to Wes and Charlotte Hume Mills upon the birth of John Hume Mills on May 27. He weighed seven pounds and eight ounces and was 20 inches long. Sisters Courtney, Eva, and Sarah welcomed baby brother home and are eagerly helping Mom with his care.
I recently saw Katy Ryan on her morning jog; I was sorry to learn Jim had knee surgery but is recovering fine. He was named Ruritan of the Year in 1990 and was chairman of the Building Committee.
Our prayers are with Mr. Frank McWhirt who recently suffered another heart attack. He is home now - if we could just slow him down a bit. Please take care of yourself. He also is a valuable member of the Ruritan Club. Hope you saw the McWhirts photo in local papers recently where they celebrate their golden anniversary.
Carrington and Lou Smith enjoyed having the families of Lisa and Curtis Stuart and Mike and Mary Bums over Memorial Day at their cottage at Fleeton Beach in Reedville.
