Too Big a Right Turn ?
The GOP convention last week in Richmond was a victory for party conservatives. But it may not prove to be a victory for the Republican party next November.
With the support of antiabortion activists, Christian conservatives and gun-control opponents, George F. Allen easily won the nomination for governor. Michael Farris, an advocate of home schooling, had little opposition for nomination for lieutenant governor.
