Louise Varner
Louise Schaefer Varner, 74, of Sperryville died Wednesday, June 2 at Overlook Nursing Home in Warrenton.
Mrs. Varner was born Feb. 25, 1919 in Culpeper County daughter of the late Christian G. and Nancy Clarke Schaefer.
She was the wife of the late Bernard M. Varner.
Mrs. Varner was a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church.
For many years Mrs. Varner was the Sperryville correspondent for the Rappahannock News.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Florence Manuel of Browntown and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held June 4 at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. William Harrison officiating.
Interment was in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Woodville.
Pallbearers were Mike Brown, Wallace Manuel, Chris Manuel, Frederick Schaefer, Francis Updike and William Deal.
Memorial contributions may be made to Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.

Turnmeyer Sr.
Ham' George Turnmeyer Sr., 71, of Front Royal, formerly of Elkton, died Saturday at his home.
The funeral was conducted June 1 at Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Harvey W. Skinner. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester.
Mr. Turnmeyer was born Oct. 30,1921, in Brunswick, Md., the son of the late George Washington and Ruth Hensley Turnmeyer.
He reitred in 1979 after 34 years with FMC/Avtex Fibers Inc. and later retired from the Front Royal Federal Credit Union in 1987 as treasurer/manager.
