The Ruritan Club’s Family Fun Day on Aug. 14 at Stuart Field in shaping up to be an exciting day. They hope to have participation by the fire department and youth baseball so they too can benefit from this important fundraiser.

Funds are still needed to complete the interior of the Ruritan Building for use by the community. They hope to raise funds through the BBQ and sale of space to crafters.

Plans for the Family Fun Day include BBQ dinner, crafters, live entertainment featuring local talent, horseshow tournament, health fair, petting zoo, games and prizes for the whole family. *

Spaces for crafters are 8 x 12 and cost $15. To sign up call 937-5024, 937-5500, or 937-4496.

Amissville Baptist will hold its Vacation Bible School from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 21-25.

Amissville Health and Fitness Club meets at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, at United Methodist. For deatails call Cathy at 937-5024.

Around the village, Curt Gausman and the Hazel River Band opened Graves’ Mountain Festival and Music last weekend.

Heather Smith celebrated her eighth birthday by taking her friends to Wonderful World of Miniature Horses on Sunday.

Mrs. Hester Riley and her twin brother Walter Estes celebrated their 81st birthday on May 28. Mrs. Riley was excited and delighted to have the family celebrate their special day. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Estes from Shenandoah, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Codell of Culpeper, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Estes of Maryland, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Estes also of Maryland also visited Mrs. Kiiey.
