Trout Fishing
Trout Unlimited’s 15th annual free trout fishing party for children 12 and under will be held on opening day of the season starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 19 on the Rose River in Madison County along Route 670 between Criglersville and Syria.
No license needed and there is no charge. Adults may accompany but cannot fish. Bring your own tackle and bait.

Roanoke
Toby Waterbury was named to the faculty’s list of honor for the fall term of the 1993-94 academic year at Roanoke College.
In order to be named to the list, a student must be enrolled in last four units during the term and earn a grade point average between 3.00 and 3.49 in those courses, with no grade lower than a “C.”
Mr. Waterbury is the son of Rose M. Baker of Amissville. He is a 1991 graduate of RCHS.

James E. Stone, a student from Amissville, is among members of the University Singers touring from David Lipscomb University this spring.
The group will perform in Tennessee, George and Florida during Lipscomb’s spring break, Jackson said. 1
Mr. Stone is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward D. Stone of Amissville and is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School.
