Because of all the dissention concerning the policy, the council decided to have a committee of five look over the policy before the next council meeting when it will again be brought up for discussion. That committee will consist of Newbill Miller, Diane Bruce, Steve Critzer, Janice Moffett and Susan Parrish.
Mayor Morehouse said that he had a grant partially filled out for a sewer study, and appointed Mr. Fisher, Ms. Parrish, and Mr. Gooch to evaluate the sewer study. The study is meant to analyze the needs of the town.
Mr. Miller commented, “Remember that with a public sewer, density is sure to follow.”
Mr. Fisher read a Certificate of Appreciation which will be presented to Patrick O’Connell and Reinhardt Lynch, owners of the Inn at Little Washington, signed by the Mayor, Treasurer, and Clerk of the town, and bearing the names of the members of the Town Council. Among other things, the certificate recognizes The Inn for being recently acknowledged as the best restaurant in the United States, for expanding the tourism industry in the town, for establishing a firm revenue base for the government land municipal operations of the town, support and donations for many town and county organizations.
Mr. Gooch asked for an update on the street lighting situation, to be discussed at the next meeting. Mr. Bailey said that he was waiting to hear from Potomac Edison.
