The WSA agreed to pursue altering the operations and maintenance manual so that septage from the tanks in the system can be hauled to the sewer plant in Remington.
They discussed whether or not the system has any remaining capacity.
Member Carson Johnson said the system was designed for 196 EDUs, and that with the authority’s actions last month 291 are being used or held in reserve.
Although on normal days the plant puts out less than half of its allowed 55,000 gallons, many customers are not making full use of the system, but could at a later date.
Mr. Johnson said he was in the process of compiling statistics on each tank in the system. He said, “We’re got 28 tanks are not generating one gallon of stuff to go to that plant out of 156. We’ve got 24 that are generating 25 percent of what they may be. We’ve got 44 generating 50 percent of normal flow, and 16 generating 75 percent.” He said that only 44 tanks are generating the expected flow.
WSA members agreed to study the issue.
