Digit was entertaining her guest, Nutmeg the golden retriever, when it happened. She was running at a fast clip when she cut a corner too close, slid in the mud, and smashed into a grape arbor.
The iryury dislocated her spine, and Digit, a seven year-old female dog, mostly black labrador, was rushed to her veterinarian in Culpeper, Dr. Beverly Young at the Blue Ridge Animal Hospital.
Digit’s owners, Donna and Robin Kevis of Washington, were devastated by the sight of their normally very active dog being unable to get her back legs to work at all.
The vet’s prognosis was that the dislocation caused her nerves to be
