Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Clark of Lebanon Church and Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Clark attended the 36th annual Highland Maple Festival in Monterey known as Virginia’s Switzerland. They visited two maple sugar orchards where they saw the sugar water tapped from the trees and the process ol making maple syrup. It takes 50 gallons of sugar water to make one gallon of maple syrup and we enjoyed maple doughnuts. If you have never been there it is worth the trip for an enjoyable day.

Saturday overnight guests of Mrs. Annie Hawkins were Roger Hawkins of Amissville and Jamie and Johnathan Deal of Hume.

Joining Mrs. Annie Hawkins and her houseguests of Sunday for dinner were Chris Hawkins and Miss Sherry Henry of Amissville, Mrs. Mabel Burke of Wood ville and Mrs. Judy Deal of Hume. Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz returned home on Monday, March 7 after spending six weeks in Venice, Fla.

Friday Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Sengstack, Eric and Jason in Centre ville for their grandson Jason’s eighth birthday.

Donald Keyser of Alexandria was a Friday until Sunday guest of his mother Mrs. Addie Keyser.
