The Virginia Gold Cup announced this week that new special skybox arrangements for 20 people will be available with tickets oh sale f<jr the 69th Running of the steeplech&sing classic on Saturday, May 6 at Great Meadow near The Plains.
"Tickets are available at more than 25 Washington are outlets, including all area Woodward & Lothr$p' stores. As in the past, tickets will not be sold at the gates and must be purchased in advance.
A seven-race card features the 4mile The Virginia Gold Cup presented by BMW, the world’s richest timber race with a purse of $40,000. The event attracts steeplechasing’s top "horses to compete over 23 post ahdriul fences.
Gates will open at 10 a.m. and prerace entertainment will begin at 10:30 a.m. Festivities will include a pigeon race, parachute jumps, Dixieland Band music and foxhound races.
