A Night ot blues
A Night of Blues featuring Robert Glasker and The Blue Hawks will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the RCHS auditorium. The event will benefit the senior class trip. PTO Meeting
The elementary school PTO meeting schedule for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13 in the RCES Library will focus on funding for art education, plans for Earth Day and upcoming PTO events.
Vintner's Dinner Planned
Chefs Denise and John Pearson of The Flint Hill Public House in Flint Hill will prepare a special dinner on Saturday, Feb. 11 featuring the wines of Jordan Vineyards and Winery. Special guest Beth Poretti of Jordan Vineyards will discuss the wines that will accompany the fivecourse dinner. The cost of the dinner is $69 per person, including tax and gratuity.
Guests may arrive at 5 p.m. to enjoy the renowned “J” sparkling wine with passed hot and cold hors d’oeuvres before the dinner, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wines to be featured during the dinner include two vintages of Jordan Chardonnay and four vintages of Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon. Among the four Cabernet Sauvignons showcased will be the 1978 and 1980 vintages, bottled in magnums, along with the more recent in the 1989 and 1991 vintages. The Pearsons, who came to the historic Flint Hill Public Flouse in the fall of 1994, will prepare a sumptuous five course menu designed to bring out the best qualities of each wine.
Reservations must be made in advance by calling 675-1700. The Flint Hill Public House is located on U S. 522 in Flint Hill.
Ham and Turkey Dinner
A ham and turkey dinner will be held from,4:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Flint Hill fire department. The menu consists of old ham and turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, cole slaw, hot rolls, and assorted homemade desserts. Prices are $8 for adults, $5 for children and children under three each free. Proceeds benefit the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department. For more information call 675-3389.
