I he tirst night ot class, Lynn Beahm, Project Coordinator for the RJR project at the school, taught the basics of Macintosh and Claris Works. Other Boy Scouts from Mike’s troop were on hand to provide help, and several of their parents were enrolled in the class. The students had a lot of hands-on experience in this class, and completed an assignment by writing a letter on the computer.
n Holly Pendleton led the class during their second evening at the computers. He taught them the Super Paint and Claris Works programs and gave his students plenty of time to experiment. Several games were available for fun and as a learning tool for the computer.
The final class was led first by Mr. Pendleton, who demonstrated the bookkeeping program called Quicken. Next, Mrs. Beahm logged onto America Online. For these demonstrations, everyone in the class was able to watch together. Mrs. Beahm used an overhead projector to show what was on the computer screen.
