The Christmas “Pickin' and Singing” sing along, a regular feature at the New Salem Baptist Church, on Route 522 will be having their Christmas program at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1. Mr. Earl Dodson of Orange will be featured on the program this Friday. The public is invited to come out and enjoy the Christmas pickin’ and singing.
Those joining Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cubbage at their home on Richmond Road for their annual Thanksgiving Day dinner on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Embrey of Bealeton, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Boutchyard of Unionville, Mr. and Mrs. Flarvey Tharp, Katrina Tharp, Mrs. Rosie Wharton, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Cubbage and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Cubbage, all of Culpeper.
Mr. and Mrs. Danny Sims, Erin, Patrick, Corey and Brem of New Jersey and Paul F. Butler, U.S.N. from Norfolk spent the Thanksgiving holidays here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Butler.
Mr. Clinton Hawkins Sr., a lifelong resident and last of his immediate family, passed away on Friday at his residence in Slate Mills, age 87.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Lee Butler entertained members of Mrs. Butler’s family, including mother and sisters, on Thanksgiving Day.
