Ruritan Auction Friday
The Amissville Ruritan Club will have an auction at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at the Community Building, Stuart Field on U.S. 211.
The sale will be conducted by Bill Payne and family. Among the items to be auctioned are a Bentwood rocker, exercise equipment, gas grille, misc. household items, bicycle, farm tools and many, many other items.
Sale proceeds will benefit the Community Building wfyich is for the public. “Please support this fund raising event by donating items and attending,” said an organizer. Call 937-6134 or 675-1190 for pick up or additional information.
Christmas Bazaar at Spring Mtn.
On Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11-4:30, spring Mountain Waldorf School will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar at the School, which is on the corner of Mt. Salem Ave. and route 211, in Washington. Our special Advent Garden spiral walk for the children will take place from 1 until 1:30. Stars will be featured everywhere, but espcially in our Star Booth, run by Peggy Schadler, Julie Coon, and Beht Wellemeyer. This Booth will sell star products made by our amazing local talent, including Star Rattles by Peggy Schadler, quilted Star Santas by Susan Parrish, and iron stars b£ Mike Doyale.
Many other local artists will also be offering their wares, including topiary by Lynn Beaver, holiday breads and biscotti from Chas Breene, homemade candies by Cindy Mahan, stained glass from Patti Mullan, handmade candles by Janet Kerig, Indonesian artifacts from Wendy Sirat, a surprise booth by Howard Coon, and much, much, much more, including a collection of lovely new toys sent to us from a friend in Germany.
There will be.a pie auction at 3 o'clock and a gingerbread house raffle. Beth Levick will p[lay her harp and lead in carols. Julie Coon and Val Clark will be making and selling delicious refreshments. For more information, call SMWS at 675-1458.
CCLC Christmas Bazaar Set
The Child Care ana Learning Center will be sponsoring its tenth annual Christmas Bazaar from 10 a m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. Festivities will include a large Christmas Bake Sale, a Craft and White Elephant Sale, a Children's Shopping Room (children only and everything is $1), pictures with Santa, lunch, face painting, and a raffle. “Please come out and join us for this annual holiday event,” said an organizer.
