Mr. Pearre began his woodworking career at the age of 12. He still has the half-finished yard people, including rabbits and boys and girls, he created as a child. Those early versions were very “crude,” Mr. Pearre said, noting that after those initial attempts he did not work with wood for another 12 or 15 years.
He was drawn back to the avocation several years ago during his 30year career as a Navy accountant. After retiring nearly three years ago, Mr. Pearre has been able to devote more time to the hobby.
