Del. Jay Katzen. R-3lst District, said he will be supporting many of the proposals in the legislative agenda adopted by the Board of Supervisors, but he will be trying to get Rappahannock-specific bills through the legislature.
In an interview at the Rappahannock News last Friday, he said, for example, he would sponsor a bill to exempt Rappahannock from requirements to have voting machines when a precinct reaches 750 voters and from the requirement that mobile homes be allowed in agricultural districts.
He said he felt he would have a better chance of getting bipartisan support for these bills if they do not affect the entire state.
On impact fees, he said he would try to get a bill through to set up a unique system for Rappahannock and Fauquier counties that would provide for impact fees to be paid into a trust fund when a home on a newly developed lot is occupied.
