pull together to help a burned-out family. Several weeks ago a family of five was burned out and lost everything. The chapter, with the help of Boots Ritchie, former owner of Fauquier Grain and one of the organizers of the local charity People Helping People, has found them a place to live and will move them in before Christmas.
Ms. Smith, who took the parttime manager’s position in October, said the organization is also in need of volunteers,
“We need volunteers in almost any field: health and safety, disaster services, service to military families, to mention some, as well as office help,” said Ms. Smith.
“We provide a service that is necessary and if we didn’t, it would fall on the churches,” she said.
